Takeaways: Antonio Reeves has a massive game in Kentucky's 95-76 win over Louisville
The Kentucky Wildcats went on the road to the KFC Yum! Center to take on the Louisville Cardinals and blew their rival out 95-76.
The crowd was full of Kentucky fans, and "blue" "white" cheers could be heard loud and clear.
Kentucky got a much-needed win over the Cards, and now the team will head into the holiday with a solid win streak.
What can we take away from Kentucky's win over the Louisville Cardinals?
Antonio Reeves went off
Antonio Reeves had a massive game for the Kentucky Wildcats, scoring 30 points on 10-16 shooting and 4-5 from deep. He also added a rebound and two assists to the stat line for the Cats. Reeves has just been incredible for the Cats so far this season and could finish as the SEC's leading scorer if he continues to play like this. If Reeves plays like this in big games, the Cats could win the National Championship.
Kentucky lit it up from deep
Kentucky has been their best this season when they are shooting the basketball well from deep, and they did that in this game. The Cats were 12-25 from three in this game for a percentage of 48. No one in the country will beat Kentucky if they shoot the ball like this. Five different Cats made a three-pointer in this game, with Reeves and Tre Mitchell tying for the team high with four threes a piece. This team's ability to light it up from deep will help them make a deep run in March.
Reed Sheppard had a double double
Reed Sheppard just had his first college double-double, as he 11 points and had 11 assists. It would not surprise me if he had a few more this season, as he can rebound the basketball and assist, which is what makes him so special. Sheppard is the type of player who could have some triple-doubles during his NBA career and maybe even in college. Sheppard is such a special player that just makes watching Kentucky basketball so much fun.
What's next?
On December 29th, the Cats will take on the Illinois State Redbirds, which is, of course, the former team of Antonio Reeves.
