Three things to know about the North Carolina Tar Heels

Kentucky is set to take on North Carolina on Saturday. What are some things about the Tar Heels that Kentucky fans need to know?

The No. 14 Kentucky Wildcats are set to take on the No. 9 North Carolina Tar Heels on Saturday at State Farm Arena in Atlanta as part of the CBS Sports Classic.

North Carolina is 7-2 so far this season. The Tar Heels have two wins over ranked opponents, No. 20 Arkansas and No. 10 Tennessee, beating them 87-72 and 100-92 respectively in back-to-back games.

North Carolina's losses came from Villanova and No. 5 UConn. The Tar Heels lost those games 83-81 and 87-76 respectively.

What are three things about North Carolina that Kentucky fans need to know?

Expect RJ Davis to have a good game

The 6-foot senior guard from White Plains, New York has been North Carolina's leading scorer so far this season.

Davis is averaging 21 points per game and is shooting 44 percent from the field so far this season.

Davis has scored at least 23 points in North Carolina's last five games which include every ranked team the Tar Heels have played so far this season. His season-high of 30 points came in their win over Arkansas.

North Carolina is not unstoppable from 3-point range

North Carolina is shooting 35.9 percent from beyond the arch so far this season. While that is not a terrible number, it is not among the nation's best either.

If Kentucky can be the better team from deep range, it will be in a good position to win the game.

North Carolina has a lot of scorers

Davis is not the only member of the Tar Heels who can put points on the board. North Carolina has three other players who average double figures.

Senior forward Armando Bacot averages 15.9 points per game. Junior forward Harrison Ingram averages 15.1 points per game. Senior guard Cormac Ryan averages 10.4 points per game.

Tipoff is set for 5:30 p.m. CT on Saturday and the broadcast can be found on CBS.
