Two stock risers from Kentucky's win over the Miami Hurricanes
The Kentucky Wildcats were looking for a signature win when the Miami Hurricanes came to town and got one, taking down the #8 team in college hoops 95-73 in front of Big Blue Nation.
The buzz around Lexington was through the roof and the players responded with a big win that will have the Cats in the top ten when the next AP Poll comes out.
Let's take a look at two players who raised their stock in the Cat's win over the Miami Hurricanes.
Reed Sheppard
There isn't enough good to say about how well Reed Sheppard has played for the Cats this season. He led the game with 21 points while going 8-13 from the field and 5-9 from deep. Sheppard also had four assists, five rebounds, three steals, and a block. The freshman guard had a +/- of 35 in this game, which was the best for the Cats by a mile. If Sheppard continues to play like this, he really could play himself into the first round of the NBA Draft. Sheppard's stock has risen a ton so far, thanks to his incredible start to the 2023-24 season.
Antonio Reeves
Not many people have been discussing Antonio Reeves this season, as the freshmen have been incredible to start the year, but Reeves is having an amazing year. He had 18 points in this game, shooting 7-12 from the field. One of the reasons the Cats couldn't close against Kansas had to do with Reeves jacking up threes. This had many concerned with him showing up in big games. He scored 18 points while only attempting three three-point field goals, silencing this crowd. The veteran could work his way into a late second-round pick in the NBA Draft if he continues to prove he can score at a high level.
