WATCH: Reed Sheppard drills a deep three to give the Cats the lead over UNC Wilmington

Reed Sheppard just made Rupp Arena shake with a deep three.

The Cats have played sloppy basketball so far against the UNC Wilmington Seahawks but have climbed back into this ball game.

Kentucky was down eight points at the half to the 5-2 Seahawks but quickly climbed back into this game thanks to some better basketball in the early second half.

The big bucket for the Cats that really sent the crowd into a frenzy was a deep three from Reed Sheppard.

Sheppard has 16 points so far in this ball game on 5-9 shooting. He has made three three-point field goals and only attempted four, raising his really good three-point percentage on the season.

This Kentucky team needed a spark after a slow first half, and it has been Sheppard as it always seems to be.

Sheppard is getting his first collegiate start in this ball game, as DJ Wagner hasn't played in this game with a lower-body injury.

We wrote earlier this week about an ESPN Mock Draft that had Sheppard being selected in the first round of the 2024 NBA Draft, and the more he plays like this, the chances of that happening increase.

The hometown kid has been Kentucky's best player this season, and the +/- numbers support that statement.

Let's take a look at Sheppard's deep three that gave the Cats a lead over the Seahawks.
