5-Star 2024 SF Karter Knox Includes Kentucky in Top Eight
Kentucky basketball and head coach John Calipari are one step closer to extending the Knox lineage in Lexington.
On Saturday, Karter Knox, the brother of former Wildcat forward Kevin Knox, announced his top seven schools and a professional route, including UK, as well as Arkansas, LSU, Florida State, South Florida, Auburn, Louisville and the G-League Ignite.
Knox is a consensus 5-star recruit in the 2024 class. The small forward out of Tampa Catholic in Florida is the No. 6 overall player in the class, per the On3 Consensus. Thus far, he has taken unofficial visits back in October to Kentucky and Louisville, the two expected frontrunners in the high-profile recruitment.
So far during the Nike EYBL AAU Circuit, Knox is averaging 21.4 points on 55-percent shooting, including 39.1 percent shooting from 3-point range. On3's national recruiting analyst Jamie Shaw had this to say of Knox on May 8:
"The load is balanced and the release consistent, especially off the catch. Knox is playing aggressively in the passing lanes, turning defense into quick offensive. He is also decisively getting downhill in straight lines and finishing at and above the rim. Overall, Knox has shown noticeable development in his game."
Kentucky will almost surely be one of the final players in the 6-foot-5, 180-pounder's recruitment. Calipari and Co. are still without a 2024 commitment.
