Kansas State's best players from the state of Oklahoma
In light of Pete Carroll saying this week that Tyler Lockett is emerging as a #1 receiver for Seattle and Russell Wilson:
I spent some time considering the other top Kansas State players from the state of Oklahoma.
#1 Tyler Lockett WR 2011-2014 Tulsa, OK 2 time first team all american (2011 & 2014). 2 time first team all Big 12 (2013 & 2014.) Big 12 offensive freshman of the year in 2011. 2 time Big 12 special teams POY (2013 & 2014) Drafted in the 3rd round of the 2015 NFL draft.
#2 Kevin Lockett WR 1993-1996 Tulsa, OK left K-State as the record holder in career receptions, yards & TDs. Single season receptions & TDs. He was a 3rd team All American in 1996. Drafted in the 2nd round of the 1997 NFL draft.
#3 Chris Johnson DE 1997-2000 Chickasha, OK 2nd team all Big 12 2000. 9th most sacks all time at K-State (19.5). Tied for 5th most sacks in a season (11). Most sacks in a single game (4 vs Missouri in 2000)
#4 Aaron Lockett WR 1998-2001 Tulsa, OK 2nd team All American punt returner in 2000. 3rd team All American PR (CNNSI) in 2001. Ranks 5th in career receiving yards and receptions. 7th in career receiving TDs. Drafted in the 7th round of the 2002 NFL draft
#5 Thomas Barnett OT 1998-2002 Oklahoma City, OK Originally a walk on, was a freshman All American in 1998. 2nd team All Big 12 2002.
#6 Tramaine Thompson WR 2010-2013 Jenks, OK 2 time honorable mention all Big 12 (2012 & 2013) return man. Ranks 8th all time at K-State in all purpose yards (3217) and 12 in receiving yards (1673).
#7 Dante Barnett S 2012-2016 Tulsa, OK 2nd team all Big 12 2014. Defensive MVP of 2013 BWW bowl.
#8 Thomas Hill TE 2000-2003 Tulsa, OK One of the most productive K-State tight ends. 413 career receiving yards an 4 TDs despite missing more of his senior year with an injury.
