Meet your Standouts: AJ Parker, CB, Junior from Oklahoma

AJ Parker stood out defensively in Game 1 as the only player to force a turnover - we looked at his path to Manhattan after the game.

From Bartlesville, Oklahoma, Junior Kansas State Cornerback AJ Parker recorded an interception and the Wildcats only turnover in the 49-14 win over Nichol's State to start the 2019 season and new head coach Chris Klieman's career at Kansas State.

If you're like me, Parker wasn't exactly on your radar before the first game as being the most likely Wildcat to stand out in Game 1. But maybe he should have been?

After being named to the All Oklahoma team and committing to Manhattan - Parker redshirted his freshman year in 2016.

Parker made little impact but started two games in 2017 before starting 12 games in 2018. He only had 2 interceptions but was 4th on the team in tackles in 2018 - and now enters his junior season with the talent and ability to make a significant impact. We'll be watching him moving forward.
