Who will return kickoffs any punts for the Wildcats in 2019?

With K-State's top two return men from 2018 (Isiah Zuber & Duke Shelley) no longer on the the roster, who will take over as the new kick returners?

With Chris Kleiman installing a new offense and defense, not much practice time has been given to special teams. And since there is no returning player with more than three punt or kick returns, it made me wonder who would get the bulk of the work for the 2019 cats. Here is who I think has the best shot.

1. Malik Knowles FR Wide Receiver- One of the fastest players on the team. Knowles showed great promise as a receiver last year, but I also think he is the kind of fluid athlete who could be a good return man. As a high school senior he averaged 15.4 yards per punt return.

2. Marcus Hayes SO Safety- Hayes would be my number one pick, but it is uncertain whether or not he will be granted a waiver to play this year after his transfer from New Mexico. At New Mexico Hayes averaged 20 yards per punt return to lead the nation.

3. Keenan Garber and/or Joshua Youngblood True FR Wide Receivers- With the loss of Isaiah Zuber and Hunter Rison the wide receiver position has started to look thin. These two dynamic speedsters could fill a hole at both WR and returner. I could see one or both of them burning their redshirt this year.

4. Ekow Boye-Doe FR Corner- This one is all about speed. He reportedly ran a 4.38 earlier this spring. https://twitter.com/ekowboyedoe/status/1126540510615744513?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1126540510615744513&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fkansasstate.forums.rivals.com%2Fthreads%2Fsounds-like-the-players-have-been-doing-some-testing.108607%2F

5. Seth Porter and/or Phillip Brooks FR Wide Receivers- Two smaller but very quick walk on wide receivers. Brooks leads all returning players with 3 kick returns for 56 yards. Porter has been getting rave reviews by players and coaches and is one of the fastest players on the team.

6. Any of the runningbacks- K-State has a brand new stable of running backs. True Freshman Thomas Grayson has great speed. Fellow Freshman Joe Ervin has great quickness. Transfers Jordon Brown and James Gilbert will be competing for the number one RB spot, but could also factor in on special teams. Harry Trotter and Tyler Burns could also help out here.
