While three star defensive tackle Jerzhan Newton has given a verbal commitment to Maryland - Kansas State remains a contender to land the recruit on Signing Day.

At 6'3", 255lbs, Clearwater, FL prospect Jerzhan Newton needs to bulk up to compete in the Power 5 at the next level.

Nonetheless, the skills are there. 

Newton verbally committed to Maryland this weekend. But, 247 sports still lists that he's warm on Kansas State. Of course, until Signing Day anything can change!
