Louisville Baseball Picked to Finish Fifth in Atlantic Division
LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The Atlantic Coast Conference released their 2024 Baseball Coaches Preseason Poll on Friday, and Louisville found themselves in unfamiliar territory.
Typically amongst one of the favorites to win the the conference year in and year out, the league's 14 head coaches voted the Cardinals to finish fifth in the Atlantic Division, behind league favorite Wake Forest, Clemson, NC State and Florida State. Louisville tallied 48 total points in the poll, placing ahead of only Notre Dame and Boston College in the division.

This does not come as a complete surprise. Louisville finished their 2023 campaign with a mark of 31-24, missing the NCAA Tournament for the second time in three year. Head coach Dan McDonnell will be entering his 18th year with the program, and sports an overall record of 719-309-1.
The Cardinals will kickoff their season down in Tampa, Fla. for a round-robin tournament with USF, UConn and Indiana State, with their season-opener taking place against the latter. First pitch is set for Friday, Feb. 16 at 12:00 p.m. EST.
