Louisville Men's Basketball's 2024-25 ACC Opponents Announced
LOUISVILLE, Ky. - While we are still in the middle of the 2023-24 college basketball season, the Louisville men's basketball program has now learned a scheduling component for next season.
On Thursday, the Atlantic Coast Conference announced the 20 conference matchups for each of their 18 member schools for the 2024-25 men's basketball season. It will be the first season following the inclusion of Stanford, Cal and SMU into the conference.
“As the 2023-24 ACC women’s and men’s basketball regular-season competition continues and our teams look ahead to the postseason, we are thrilled to announce each school’s opponents for our first year as an 18-member league,” ACC Commissioner Jim Phillips said in a statement. “We look forward to having Cal, SMU and Stanford join the ACC this summer and we know there’s already great excitement and anticipation for our teams, alumni and fans for what’s ahead surrounding this incredible conference.”
Under the new scheduling model, each team will have three home-and-away opponents instead of six under the current model. For the remaining 14 games, they will consist of seven home-only opponents and seven away-only opponents.
For Louisville, they will take on Cal, Clemson, Duke, Miami, North Carolina, Stanford, Wake Forest at home; while going on the road to face Boston College, Georgia Tech, NC State, Notre Dame, SMU, Syracuse, Virginia Tech. The Cardinals face Pitt, Virginia and Florida State twice this season for home and away games.
Starting with the 2024-25 season, only the top 15 teams in the final ACC standings will compete in the 2025 ACC Tournament, meaning the bottom three will be excluded.
The full conference schedule with specific game dates, times and networks will be announced early this fall.
