Game Day Live Blog: Louisville vs. Simmons College | Exhibition 1

The Cardinals kick off exhibition play with a matchup against the Falcons.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - After a long offseason, live games against an actual opponent have returned for the Louisville men's basketball program.

The Cardinals might have to wait until Nov. 6 to kick off the 2023-24 regular season, but until then, they have a pair of exhibition matches to get them warmed up. Kicking off exhibition play, Louisville is welcoming Simmons College to the KFC Yum! Center. Tipoff is set for 7:00 p.m. EST, and can be streamed on ACC Network Extra.

This will be the Cardinals' second ever matchup with the Falcons, who are an HBCU located roughly 1.5 miles from UofL's campus. They first did battle on the hardwood back on Nov. 3, 2018 also in exhibition play, with Louisville winning 90-41.

Louisville is entering year two under head coach Kenny Payne, while Simmons is led by head coach Tony Branch, a former Cardinal who was a captain on the 1980 national championship team and is a Louisville Athletics Hall of Famer.
