The Louisville men's basketball alumni team faces the top seed in the Louisville Regional with a trip to the quarterfinals on the line.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - After surviving an upset bid from the Jackson TN Underdawgs, the Louisville men's basketball alumni team known as The Ville has moved onto the Louisville Regional final, where a showdown with the Gutter Cats awaits them.

It was a defensive slugfest throughout much of The Ville's matchup with the Underdawgs in the Round of 32, and while they were on upset alert at times, they were able to squeeze out a 79-74 victory. Russ Smith once again had a 20-point outing, Chane Behanan logged a double-double, and Omar Prewitt's 13 played a massive role in the second half.

While The Ville are the regional hosts, it's the Gutter Cats who are the No. 1 seed in the Louisville Regional, and they proved why on Thursday against the Maryland alumni team, Shell Shock. Trailing by 11 after the first quarter, they stormed back with a 29-point second quarter en route to winning 71-57. Former Virginia Tech standout Jarell Eddie led the charge with 15 points, nine of which came in that second quarter.
