'25 PG Jalen Reece Receives Louisville Offer
LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The Louisville men's basketball program has found another long-term target to pursue.
Jalen Reece, a Class of 2025 guard who plays his high school ball at Orlando (Fla.) Oak Ridge, announced Wednesday night that he has been offered a scholarship to play for the Cardinals.
Heading into his senior season at Oak Ridge, Reece has already drawn a fair amount of high major interest. He holds 10 total Division I offers, including ones from Alabama, Cincinnati, Kansas State, Missouri, Virginia Tech, Xavier and others. He ranks as high as the No. 59 prospect in the nation, according to Rivals.
The 5-foot-10, 155-pound point guard has had a productive summer out on the offseason circuits. During the E16 leg of the Nike Peach Jam earlier this month, which the UofL staff was present for, he poured in 8.8 points, 4.4 assists and 2.4 rebounds per game for the Florida Rebels. His best performance was an 18-point and seven assist outing in a 72-67 win over Strive for Greatness.
Last season as a junior for Oak Ridge, he was an even bigger playmaker. He averaged 14.5 points, 7.5 assists, 4.2 rebounds and 3.8 steals per game, helping the Pioneers go 19-10 and reach the semifinals of the Florida Class 7A state playoffs.
Louisville head coach Kenny Payne has been very selective in who he extends a scholarship off to. Seven uncommitted prospects in the 2025 cycle have received a Louisville offer so far. The Cardinals currently do no have a commitment in the class.
