Live Tracker: What Transfers Has Louisville Reached Out To?
LOUISVILLE, Ky. - It's been a busy offseason for the Louisville men's basketball program. Not long after the Cardinals concluded their abysmal 2022-23 season, one where they went 4-28 under first year head coach Kenny Payne, the roster began to flip.
So far, Louisville has seen seven players depart the program. Kamari Lands, Devin Ree, Fabio Basili, Sydney Curry, Roosevelt Wheeler and Jae'Lyn Withers all entered the transfer portal; and El Ellis declared for the NBA Draft - but did leave open the option to come back
Conversely, the Cardinals have added to their 2023 recruiting class since the season ended. On top of four-star wings Kaleb Glenn and Curtis Williams Jr. plus JUCO guard Koron Davis, Louisville also secured commitments from five-star center Dennis Evans and five-star reclass guard/forward Trentyn Flowers.
Louisville has also made waves in the transfer portal since their season ended, landing former Illinois guard Skyy Clark as well as Evans and Flowers.
As it currently stands, the Cardinals have three open scholarships for their 2023-24 roster. Since most 2023 prospects are already committed elsewhere, Louisville is expected to fill most of - if not all - the remaining scholarships via the portal.
So who are the transfers that Louisville is currently targeting? Below is the list of transfers that UofL has reached out to, courtesy of reports from CBS Sports' Jon Rothstein, On3's Joe Tipton, 24/7 High School Sports' Josh Nicholls, Stockrisers' Jake Weingarten, 247Sports' Travis Branham and Rivals' Travis Graf:
