Watch: Louisville HC Kenny Payne Previews Notre Dame

The Cardinals return home after back-to-back road beatdowns to face the Fighting Irish.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The Louisville men's basketball program, already in the midst of another sub-.500 campaign, is coming off of an incredibly rough stretch of basketball.

While the Cardinals were shorthanded in their road games against both Boston College and Pitt, this has arguably been their worst two-game stretch of the entire season. They were out-scored 50-30 in the second half against the Eagles en route to an 89-77 loss, then allowed Pitt's Blake Hinson to put up 41 in what ended up being an 86-59 defeat.

"First of all, when we turn the ball over, we're giving our opponent a chance to beat us, and we're sort of beating ourselves," head coach Kenny Payne said. "Two, I think we've had games where we were dominant on the glass, and multiple guys were scoring."

However, Louisville has a golden opportunity to get back in the win column. Next up, they are welcoming Notre Dame to the KFC Yum! Center, who - while they have shown flashes of promise under first year head coach Micah Shewsberry - is very much in the middle of year one rebuild.

Prior to their matchup with the Fighting Irish, Payne took time to meet with the media on the weekly ACC Coaches Conference Call. He discussed the previous game at Pitt, previewed the upcoming matchup vs. Notre Dame, and more.
