Louisville women's basketball signed one the highest ranked recruits in program history Nov. 16.

Hailey Van Lith, a 5-foot-7 guard, signed with the Cardinals as part of their 2020 recruiting class. Van Lith is the second-ranked prospect in the nation by Prospect Nation and eighth nationally by espnW HoopGurlz.

She was the Gatorade Player of the Year in Washington last season after averaging 34.4 points, 8.3 rebounds, 5.2 steals and 4.9 assists per game for Cashmere High School.

"Hailey Van Lith is recognized as one of the top point guards in her class," Louisville head coach Jeff Walz said. "She has been an integral part of USA Basketball and I enjoyed coaching her to a gold medal in this past year's U19 international competition."

She was named the 2019 FIBA 3 on 3 U18 World Cup MVP and 2018 USA Basketball 3 on 3 U18 National Championship MVP. Van Lith has been a part of four USA gold medal teams.

"Hailey brings with her a unique skill set with a mamba mentality, " Walz said. "There is no stage too big, nor a shot too difficult to pull off. She has a unique inner confidence and leadership skills well beyond her age. Hailey is purposeful and deliberate in her approach to the game."

Van Lith, who selected Louisville over Baylor, is a scoring point guard with strong ball handling skills. She is the fourth member of Louisville's 2020 recruiting class, joining Merissah Russell, Ahlana Smith and Olivia Cochran.

Russell, Smith and Cochran signed Wednesday, Nov. 13.
