Louisville Opens as Two-Point Road Favorite vs. Miami

The Cardinals face the Hurricanes in their final true road game of the 2023 season.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The Louisville football will be heading to Miami next weekend for their final true road game of the season, and oddmakers are liking them to continue their winning ways when they hit the road.

According to Circa Sports, the No. 9 Cardinals have opened up as a -2.0 point favorite over the home Hurricanes. The over/under has been set at 47.5.

Louisville narrowly avoided an upset loss to Virginia this past Thursday, reaching the end zone on back-to-back drives to pull ahead after trailing by a touchdown heading into the final minutes of the game. Quarterback Jack Plummer found Ahmari Huggins-Bruce for a 52-yard game-tying score, then Isaac Guerendo ran it 73 yards to put the Cardinals over the Cavaliers 31-24.

As for Miami, it has been an up-and-down season for them. While they dominated in the non-conference slate with a perfect 4-0 mark, they are at risk of not even posting a .500 mark in conference play in Mario Cristobal's second season at the helm. They're on a two-game losing streak, most recently falling to in-state rival Florida State, 27-20, in Tallahassee.

Louisville is 5-5 against-the-spread so far this season, whereas Miami is 4-6. The Cardinals are 0-2 ATS on the road despite being 1-1 straight up, while the Hurricanes are 2-4 ATS at home while being 5-1 straight up.

Louisville was able to cover vs. Murray State (-43.5), vs. Boston College (-14.0) vs. Notre Dame (+6.5), vs. Duke (-5.0) and vs. Virginia Tech (-9.5); but failed to do so vs. Georgia Tech (-7.0), vs. Indiana (-10.0) at NC State (-3.5) at Pitt (-7.0) and vs. Virginia (-20.0).

Miami covered vs. Miami of Ohio (-16.5), vs. Texas A&M (+4.0), at Temple (-23.0), and at Florida State (+14.5); but could not do so vs. Bethune-Cookman (-53.5), vs. Georgia Tech (-19.0), at North Carolina (+2.5), vs. Clemson (+6.0), vs. Virginia (-18.5) and at NC State (-6.5).

Kickoff vs. Miami is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 18 at 12:00 p.m. EST.
