Louisville Football's 2024 ACC Schedule Announced
LOUISVILLE, Ky. - On the heels of a successful first year under head coach Jeff Brohm, the Louisville football program now knows their full schedule for his follow-up act.
The Atlantic Coast Conference announced the 2024 schedule on Wednesday for their 17 member schools, and it's one that will look a little bit different than that last season's.
After utilizing a 3-3-5 division-less scheduling model for the 2023 season, the ACC had to implement an updated model for 2024 following the inclusion of Stanford, Cal and SMU into the conference. Like last season, each of the 17 teams will continue to compete in the same division, and the two teams with the best conference winning percentage will face off in the ACC Championship Game.
Louisville will kick off year two of the Brohm era with a pair of warmup games at home. They'll take on FCS foe Austin Peay in their season-opener on Aug. 31, then follow that up with a matchup against Jacksonville State on Sept. 7.
Following an early week three bye, they'll host Georgia Tech for their ACC opener on Sept. 21, then make their first road trip of the season and face Notre Dame on Sept. 28. The Cardinals will then return home and host league newcomer SMU on Oct. 5 before embarking on a trip to Virginia on Oct. 12 for their first road game against an ACC opponent.
After hosting Miami on Oct. 19, Louisville does not have another home game for over a month, and will play three road games in four weeks. They'll travel to Boston College on Friday, Oct. 25 for their only weeknight game of the season, then to Clemson on Nov. 2, head into their second bye of the season in week 11, then head to the West Coast for a matchup at Stanford on Nov. 16.
Finally, the Cardinals return to L&N Stadium to host Pitt on Nov. 23 for their final home game of the season before heading to Kentucky on Nov. 30 in the regular-season-ending Battle for the Governors Cup.
