LOUISVILLE, Ky. - After mounting a comeback against Virginia on Thursday and losses from some of the teams in from of them in the polls, the Louisville football program has officially jumped into the top-10 of the Associated Press Top 25 Poll.

The Cardinals (9-1, 6-1 ACC) garnered 1,002 votes in week 12 of the AP Top 25, rising from No. 11 in last week’s poll to No. 9 this week. It's their first time cracking the top-10 in the AP Top 25 since the 2016 season.

The updated College Football Rankings, which also had Louisville at No. 11 entering this past weekend, will be released on Tuesday.

Trailing by a touchdown heading into the final minutes of the game, Louisville reached the end zone on back-to-back drives to pull ahead and narrowly avoid an upset loss to Virginia. Quarterback Jack Plummer found Ahmari Huggins-Bruce for a 52-yard game-tying score, then Isaac Guerendo ran it 73 yards to put the Cardinals over the Cavaliers 31-24.

Louisville will be back in action this weekend, traveling to Miami for their final true road game of the season with a berth to the ACC Championship on the line. Kickoff against the Hurricanes is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 18 at 12:00 p.m. EST.
