Fitzpatrick and Dawkins yet to be utilized
Seth Dawkins and Dez Fitzpatrick have yet to become big components in Louisville football’s offense this fall. The receivers have combined for eight receptions for 81 yards in three games after headlining the position group heading into the season.
With a focus on establishing a rushing attack, the Cardinals haven’t thrown the ball an exorbitant amount, averaging 21 pass attempts per game. Louisville coach Scott Satterfield wants to utilized Dawkins and Fitzpatrick.
“We do want to get them involved,” Satterfield said. “They’re talented players and we want to get them involved. Hopefully as we move forward, we will be able to get those guys some touches.”
Satterfield said Dawkins, a senior, and Fitzpatrick, a junior, have performed at a high level despite not having the ball thrown their way.
“They have gone out and blocked every time we have called a run,” Satterfield said. “I love their attitudes. I love how they’re bringing it every day. They want to win.”
