The highlights, photo gallery and team & player notes from the Cardinals' win vs. the Fighting Irish.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Playing in front of the largest crowd in L&N Stadium history, the No. 25 Louisville football program was able to pull off the upset over No. 10 Notre Dame, leaning on their defense and rushing attack to capture a 33-20 win.

Team Notes:

  • Louisville improves to 2-2 vs. Notre Dame, including 1-1 at L&N Stadium.
  • The Cards are off to a 6-0 start overall for the first time since 2013.
  • The Cards set a new attendance record at L&N Stadium with 59,081 fans.
  • Louisville stretches its winning streak to seven games, tied for the 10th longest in program history and the longest since 2014.
  • Louisville pushes its home winning streak to eight games, tied for the 7th longest in program history and the longest since 2016.
  • Louisville is 25-11 in non-conference play since joining the ACC in 2014 including wins in seven of its last eight non-conference games.
  • Jeff Brohm is the second Louisville coach to begin his UofL career 6-0, joining Tom King who won his first ten games coaching the Cardinals in 1925 and 1926.
  • With three interceptions, Louisville became the first team to intercept Notre Dame in seven games and 149 pass attempts.
  • Louisville holds Notre Dame to 298 yards of total offense, its lowest total since a 297-yard performance against California on Sept. 17, 2022.
    • Notre Dame's 44 yards rushing is its lowest total since rushing for 42 yards vs. Oklahoma State in its 2021 bowl game.
  • Louisville forces five turnovers for the first time since forcing eight vs. Wake Forest on Oct. 29, 2022.
  • Louisville holds its opponent scoreless in the first quarter for the seventh straight game, the longest streak since doing so for seven straight games in 1973.
  • Louisville has won seven straight games vs. coaches facing the Cards for the first time.

Player Notes:

  • RB Jawhar Jordan rushed for 143 yards on 21 carries, scoring on runs of 45 and 21 yards.
    • Jordan logged the eighth 100-yard rushing game of his career, all coming within the last 11 games.
    • Jordan had his fourth game with multiple rushing touchdowns, all coming within the last seven games.
    • Jordan had his fifth game with multiple touchdowns scored, all coming within the last nine games.
    • Jordan fell two yards short of matching his career high rushing total.
  • WR Jamari Thrash had 8 receptions for 75 yards, including a nine-yard touchdown.
    • Thrash made his sixth touchdown reception and scored the seventh TD of his six-game Louisville career.
  • QB Jack Plummer finished 17-of-24 for 145 yards passing with one touchdown pass and no interceptions. He was sacked twice for 15 yards.
    • Plummer has completed a touchdown pass in all six of his games at Louisville and eight straight games going back to his career at California.
  • K Brock Travelstead made four of five field goals and all three extra point attempts.
    • Travelstead tied a school record for most made field goals in a game with four.
    • Travelstead became the first Louisville player to make four field goals in a game twice during a season, having made four in the Cards' win vs. Georgia Tech in the season opener.
    • Travelstead's 15-point scoring total tied the fifth most points by kicking in a game by a Louisville player.
    • Travelstead punted four times for a 44.8-yard average.
  • S Devin Neal intercepted two passes to go with eight tackles, 0.5 tackle for loss, and a pass breakup.
    • Neal had his first multi-interception game and the first by a Louisville defender since Quincy Riley intercepted two passes in a 48-21 win vs. No. 10 Wake Forest on Oct. 29, 2022.
    • Neal pushed his career interception total to five, including three at Louisville and two during his time at Baylor.
  • DL Ramon Puryear recovered a fumble in his second consecutive game to go with two tackles, a sack, and 1.5 tackles for loss.
    • Puryear increased his career totals to 4.5 sacks and nine tackles for loss.
  • CB Jarvis Brownlee had the first fumble recovery of his career to go with five tackles.
  • DL Mason Reiger had two sacks, two tackles for loss, a quarterback hurry, and a forced fumble to go with four tackles.
    • Reiger had the first multi-sack game of his career and pushed his career total to five sacks.
    • Reiger had the fourth forced fumble of his career.
  • LB TJ Quinn led Louisville in tackles for the second straight game with 10 and added 0.5 tackle for loss and a quarterback hurry.
    • Quinn had his second consecutive game with double-digit tackles.
