The highlights, photo gallery and team & player notes from the Cardinals' win vs. the Blue Devils.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Returning to action following the bye week, the Louisville football program was able to rebound and capture a big win as it pertains to the ACC standings, shutting out Duke in a top-20 matchup.

The Atlantic Coast Conference put together a highlight tape of the matchup, which you can see here:

Team Notes:

  • Louisville improves to 4-0 in the all-time series vs. Duke, including 2-0 at L&N Stadium.
  • The Cards rise to 7-1 overall and 4-1 in conference play, both marks last achieved in 2016.
  • Louisville's home winning streak stretches to nine games, tied for fifth longest in program history and longest since 2015-16.
  • Louisville holds Duke to 202 yards of total offense and 51 yards rushing.
    • Duke's 202 yards of total offense is the third lowest total by a ranked Louisville opponent, surpassing only the 175 yards by No. 9 Miami in 1950 and 189 yards by No. 25 Alabama in 1991.
    • The Cards have held four straight opponents under 300 yards of total offense for the first time since 2013-14.
    • The Cards have held four straight opponents under 100 rushing yards for the first time since 2016.
  • Louisville holds Duke to nine first downs, matching the lowest by a ranked opponent in program history which came in a 13-13 tie at No. 9 Miami in 1950.
  • Louisville shuts out a ranked opponent for the first time in program history.
    • Louisville shuts out a conference opponent for the third time in the past 50 years and the second time since joining the ACC.
    • Louisville shuts out two opponents in a single season for the first time since 2010 when the Cards blanked Memphis 56-0 and Connecticut 26-0.
  • Louisville beats two AP-ranked opponents in a single season for the second time in program history.
    • The 2006 Cards beat three ranked teams, two in the regular season and one in the Orange Bowl.
  • Louisville has won its last four home games vs. opponents ranked in the AP or coaches poll, matching its longest previous streak which occurred from 2002 to 2008.
  • The 23-point margin of victory is the Cards' fifth largest vs. an AP Top 25 opponent.
  • Louisville avoids turnovers for the second time this season.
  • Louisville scores on its opening drive for the sixth time this season, with touchdowns on five of those.
  • Louisville wins its 17th straight game over the past five seasons when shutting out its opponent in the first quarter.
  • Louisville wins its fifth straight Homecoming game, improving to 61-36 all-time and 22-4 at L&N Stadium.

Player Notes:

  • RB Jawhar Jordan rushed for a career-high 163 yards on 21 carries, scoring on runs of 14 and 23 yards.
    • Jordan had his ninth career 100-yard rushing game, all coming within the past 13 games.
    • Jordan had his fifth career game with multiple rushing touchdowns and sixth game with multiple TDs scored.
  • WR Jamari Thrash had seven receptions for 73 yards, taking him over 700 yards on the season.
  • QB Jack Plummer completed 69% of his passes, going 11-16 for 117 yards, no interceptions, and no touchdowns. He was sacked twice for 13 yards.
  • DL Ashton Gillotte had two sacks to take his season total to 8.5.
    • Gillotte had his third game of the season and fifth of his career with more than one sack.
    • Gillotte added three tackles and a QB hurry.
  • LB Gilbert Frierson had his first interception as a Louisville player to go with a shared tackle for loss.
  • DL Jermayne Lole logged the first sack of his Louisville career as part of an effort that included a forced fumble, a pass breakup, and two tackles.
  • DL Jared Dawson had his first sack of the season.
  • DB Cam'Ron Kelly and LB TJ Quinn led the Louisville defense with seven tackles apiece. Kelly and Quinn each added a pass breakup and Quinn shared a tackle for loss.
  • DB Storm Duck made the first start of his Louisville career.
  • K Brock Travelstead made all three of his field goal attempts, connecting from 47, 20, and 24 yards.
    • Travelstead improved to 13 of 17 on field goal attempts for the season and 29 of 29 on extra points.
  • P Brady Hodges punted for the first time in his career, averaging 43 yards per punt and landing all three inside the 20-yard line.
