LOUISVILLE, Ky. - After capturing a massive win against Notre Dame in front of a record home crowd, the Louisville football program is heading back on the road and resuming conference play for another primetime matchup, traveling to the Steel City to face Pitt.

Facing one of the best teams in college football, the Cardinals dominated the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball against the Fighting Irish. ND was held to 44 rushing yards, quarterback Sam Hartman was sacked four times and had five turnovers, while UofL running back Jawhar Jordan ran for 145 yards and two touchdowns.

As for the Panthers, it has been the exact opposite season for them. Pitt is coming off of their bye week, but have dropped four in a row and are off to their worst start since 2005, most recently suffering a 38-21 defeat at Virginia Tech in week five. During the bye, starting quarterback Phil Jurkovec was benched in favor of backup Christian Veilleux.

This will be the 20th all-time meeting between Louisville and Pitt, with the Panthers holding a slim 10-9 advantage in the series. These two teams last met on Oct. 22, 2022 at Cardinal Stadium, with Louisville coming out on top with a 24-10 victory.
