Louisville Lands Commitment from ‘24 S Jaiden Spearman

The safety from North Carolina is the tenth commitment for the Cardinals in the 2024 recruiting class.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The Louisville football program’s recruiting efforts in the month of June have netted them another Class of 2024 prospect.

Jaiden Spearman, a safety who is set to play his senior season at Cornelius (N.C) William Amos Hough, announced Tuesday that he has given his verbal pledge to the Cardinals. He chose Louisville over finalists Michigan, Wisconsin, Florida, Penn State, Ole Miss, Baylor, Purdue, Maryland, UConn, Georgia Southern, and Charlotte.

He is the second prospect in the 2024 cycle to commit to Louisville after visiting this past weekend, joining Forsyth (Ga.) Mary Persons running back Duke Watson. They were part of a group of 11 prospects that were on campus for official visits.

There’s also a family connection between Spearman and the Louisville staff. His older brother, Ike, played for co-defensive coordinator Ron English when he was the head coach Eastern Michigan.

The 6-foot-2, 190-pound defensive back ranks as high as the No. 93 safety in the 2024 cycle, according to On3’s in-house rankings. He comes in as the No. 1,295 prospect in the nation per the 247Sports Composite.

Spearman’s ranking might not jump off the page for some, but he has already proven that he is a playmaker. In his junior season spent with Windsor (Conn.) Loomis Chaffee School, he logged 62 tackles, 11 pass breakups, two interceptions and two forced fumbles, according to 247Sports.

Louisville now sports a ten-man recruiting class in the 2024 cycle with Spearman’s commitment. He is only the third defensive prospect to give his verbal pledge to the Cardinals so far, joining linebackers T.J. Capers and Trent Carter.
