Kickoff Time, TV Designation Announced for Louisville vs. Kentucky

The Cardinals host the Wildcats in their final game of the 2023 regular season.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The Louisville football program's annual Battle for the Governor's Cup against arch rival Kentucky will not be taking place under the lights.

The matchup between the No. 9 Cardinals and the Wildcats on Saturday, Nov. 25 will kickoff at 12:00 p.m. EST at L&N Stadium in Louisville, Ky., the ACC announced Saturday night. It was also announced that the game will be televised on ABC.

Like the previous week against Virginia, Louisville was able to finish strong against Miami and pull out a come-from-behind victory to punch their ticket to the ACC Championship Game. The Cardinals out-scored the Canes 15-3 in the fourth quarter, with backup QB Evan Conley scoring on a five-yard wildcat keeper, starting QB Jack Plummer connecting with WR Kevin Coleman Jr. for a 58-yard catch-and-run touchdown, then the defense holding firm with a goal line stand to capture a 38-31 victory.

As for Kentucky, they have not looked like the same team since the calendar flipped to the month of October. They won their first five games of the season including a victory over then-No. 22 ranked Florida, but have lost four of their last five games. Most recently, they were dealt a crushing and decisive blow at the hands of Alabama, falling 49-21 at Kroger Field.

Next Saturday will be the 35th all-time meeting between the two programs with Kentucky owning a 19-15 advantage, but Louisville owns a 15-13 advantage since the series was resumed in 1994. The Wildcats are currently on a four-game winning streak in the series, including a 26-13 decision in Lexington last season.
