Louisville Report breaks down 2024 Louisville football cornerback commit Rae'mon Mosby.
In this story:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The Louisville football program had some fireworks out on the recruiting trail during the Fourth of July, as Rae'mon Mosby has committed to the Cardinals.

Here is Louisville Report's full evaluation:

Prospect: Rae'mon Mosby
Position: Cornerback
Measurables: 6-foot-0, 175 pounds
School: Atlanta (Ga.) Westlake
Top Offers: Cincinnati, Miami, Nebraska, North Carolina, Purdue
247Sports Composite Rating (Nat'l Rank): 0.8656 (926th)

Rae'mon Mosby's Junior Year Highlights: HERE (Hudl)

Frame: Has a bit of a wiry frame, but has the wingspan and height that you would want from a boundary corner. Definitely needs to add some weight between now and his freshman year, but his base muscle tone is already good.

Athleticism: Even with how lengthy Mosby, he moves well. His north/south agility and foot speed is good, lateral agility is solid, and he has great open field speed. His vertical could use some improvement, but it's not a huge detriment.

Instincts: Given his physical intangibles, some of Mosby's best work comes as a man-to-man cover corner. He displays a good mirror technique while in man, and whether the receiver is running a streak or a more complex route, Mosby rarely lets the receiver get much separation beyond 5-10 yards down the field. In zone coverage, while his break on the ball could be a tick faster, he still displays great timing when it comes to going for a PBU without committing pass interference. Regardless of his exact defensive assignment, film shows that Mosby has a good understanding for how the play is developing, and doesn't make wrong decision very often.

Polish: He plays mostly off of the line of scrimmage, sometimes even close to a full 10 yards, and almost never presses/jams the receiver. He uses a flip technique while in zone coverage, which is effective, but can sometimes be a dead giveaway that he is in zone. Mosby can be somewhat physical at times and displays the occasional hard hit, but this is something he needs to let come naturally as he adds more weight.

Bottom Line: Overall, Mosby is a solid pickup for Louisville. While he does need to bulk up some and continue to fine tune his fundamentals and technique, he has a somewhat high ceiling if everything comes together. He could project to a regular contributor by his sophomore season.
