LOUISVILLE, Ky. - It's been relatively quiet on the recruiting trail for Louisville football as they progress through spring ball, but the program has landed another impact player from the transfer portal at an area of need.

Offensive lineman Vincent Lumia, who spent five years at Duquesne before entering the portal earlier this month as a graduate transfer, announced Saturday that he has committed to play his final season of eligibility with the Cardinals.

The 6-foot-3, 290-pound offensive tackle was arguably Duquesne's top offensive lineman during their 2022 campaign, and one of their top offensive players overall. Starting all eleven games for the Dukes, Lumia was tabbed as a Third-Team All-Northeast Conference selection by Phil Steele, and was their highest rated offensive lineman with a grade of 77.2, according to Pro Football Focus. He was the fourth-highest rated player on the entire team.

The Riviera Beach, Fla. native has consistently been a top flight lineman for the Dukes. After seeing minimal time on the field over his first two years, he was named a First-Team All-Northeast Conference selection in 2021 and a Second-Team All-Northeast Conference selection in 2022.

With three starting offensive linemen for Louisville moving on due to graduation, and an impact reserve entering the portal, Lumia's addition fills an immediate need. He will compete with Renato Brown for the starting right tackle job with Trevor Reid moving on, as every single one of his 1,693 snaps from the past four seasons has been at right tackle.

Louisville has been incredibly active in the transfer portal since Brohm was hired as their head coach in December. While the Cardinals have lost 14 via the portal since the end of the regular season, Lumia is now the 13th to transfer in over the offseason. He's also the second offensive lineman to transfer in, following former Virginia guard John Paul Flores.

The Cardinals finished their 2022 season with an overall mark of 8-5 (4-4 in ACC), including a 24-7 win in the Fenway Bowl over Cincinnati.
