Kickoff Time, TV Designation Announced for Louisville vs. Virginia Tech
LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The Louisville football program's stretch of afternoon and primetime games is continuing with their showdown with Virginia Tech.
The matchup between the Cardinals and the Panthers on Saturday, Nov. 4 will kickoff at 3:30 p.m. EST at L&N Stadium in Louisville, Ky., the ACC announced Monday. It was also announced that the game will be televised on the ACC Network.
Louisville (6-1, 3-1 ACC) and Virginia Tech (3-4, 2-1 ACC) are both coming off of bye weeks, and things are heading in different directions for the respective program. While the first year of the Jeff Brohm era for the Cardinals has seen their best start to a season since 2013, year two under Brent Pry for the Hokies has been up and down.
Before heading into their bye week, Louisville saw their perfect start to the season come to a screeching halt at Pitt. Despite entering the game as a touchdown favorite, three turnovers inside the 25-yard and multiple injuries proved too much to overcome, resulting in a 38-21 upset loss.
As for Virginia Tech, they began their 2023 campaign with a 1-4, but have since won two of their last three, including a 30-13 win over Wake Forest in their last outing. This coincides with Kyron Drones stepping in at the Hokies' starting quarterback, who went 20-for-29 for 321 yards and two touchdowns against the Demon Deacons.
Next Saturday will be the ninth all-time meeting between the two programs, with Virginia Tech owning a 6-2 advantage. These two teams have met just once since Louisville joined the ACC, with the Hokies taking down the Cardinals 42-35 back on Halloween of 2020 in Cardinal Stadium,
Louisville hosts Duke this Saturday at 3:30 p.m. EST, while Virginia Tech hosts Syracuse this Thursday at 7:30 p.m. EST
