College World Series: How to Watch LSU Baseball vs. Wake Forest
The LSU Tigers are set to take on the Wake Forest Demon Deacons for the third time in four days when the two powerhouse programs compete for a spot in the College World Series Finals.
Jay Johnson's group kept their season alive on Wednesday after taking down Wake Forest and forcing a pivotal Game 2 of the semifinals.
Led by a strong showing from freshman pitchers Griffin Herring and Gavin Guidry, the Tigers stay alive in Omaha with just one win in their way of a CWS Finals berth.
The pitching rotation has come alive for LSU as of late, specifically reliever Riley Cooper. Cooper has stepped up when this program has needed him most with Coach Johnson praising his seasoned veteran.
"I think when you're physical and bigger and stronger, he's one of the strongest guys, pound for pound, on the team, you tend to recover better," Johnson said on Wednesday. "That's part of what makes him - is the stuff that shows up.
"But again I've said this before, probably over the two weeks before we got here, it's not about spin rate right now. It's not about velocity. It's about pitch execution and winners. And he is a winner. And that's why I believe in him."
It's now or never for the Tigers as they look to punch their ticket to the CWS Finals with the Florida Gators anxiously awaiting their opponent.
