LSU Women's Basketball: No. 1 Prospect in America Visits Baton Rouge

Kim Mulkey and the Tigers received a visit from the top 2024 recruit with LSU looking to seal the deal.

Kim Mulkey and her coaching staff continue making moves on the recruiting trail as this program dives into the 2024 cycle.

It's no secret LSU has its fair share of elite recruiters within this program. From Mulkey to Bob Starkey to Gary Redus, the Tigers have heavy hitters on the trail and they're going above and beyond in order to build LSU for the long haul.

Last week quickly became a key piece in doing so.

Redus and Starkey made their way up the East coast for two key visits with one of them stealing the show: A visit with the No. 1 recruit in America.

But it didn't stop there. LSU also received an official visit from the top player in the country.

Five-star forward Sarah Strong made her way to Baton Rouge on Friday for an official visit with Mulkey and the Tigers. After competing in Hungary alongside LSU freshman Mikaylah Williams in the U18 3x3 competition, the two could envision teaming up at the next level.

LSU also traveled up to North Carolina last week for an in-home visit with Strong and her family with coach Starkey and recruiting guru Gary Redus making the trip.

For now, LSU is the team to beat here for Strong’s services. At this point in time, the No. 1 player in the 2024 class does not have any other official visits lined up and the Tigers have positioned themselves well for the top player in the country.

After an in-home visit last week and an official visit wrapping up with Strong being in town on Friday and Saturday, we could see Strong pop sooner rather than later.

A player who would once again set the Tigers up for the long haul, Mulkey and Co. have turned up the heat in order to seal the deal. Time will tell, but we could see Strong make a decision soon.
