After turning in two of the great offensive performances in recent LSU memory, quarterback Joe Burrow and running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire were rewarded by the SEC.

The duo was named SEC Co-Offensive Players of the Week for their part in the 46-41 win over No. 4 Alabama on Saturday.

Burrow cemented his Heisman status by throwing for 393 yards and three touchdowns against the Tide. Burrow also rushed for an additional 64 yards on the ground, adding up to 457 total yards, good for the third most yards in a game by an LSU player ever.

But it was Edwards-Helaire who stole the show, particularly in the second half.

The junior running back rushed for 103 yards and three touchdowns while adding an additional 77 yards in receiving with a fourth touchdown through the air.

As part of his 180 yard, four touchdown performance against the Crimson Tide on Saturday, Edwards-Helaire became the first running back to score four touchdowns against an Alabama defense since 2007.

It’s the first time in his career that the junior running back has been awarded SEC Player of the Week, while the senior quarterback Burrow has won the award five times in 2019 alone, extending his own school record.
