Kayshon Boutte's NFL Combine Numbers
Former LSU star wide receiver Kayshon Boutte decided to skip his senior year in Baton Rouge and declare for the 2023 NFL Draft. As he continues going through the process, Boutte is participating in this weekend’s NFL Combine.
Boutte has taken part in the 40-yard dash, vertical jump and a couple other events to this point.
Here’s a look into Boutte’s numbers:
40-yard dash (unofficial times) - 4.50 on his first attempt and 4.67 on his second attempt
Vertical Jump - 29” (second percentile)
Broad Jump - 108” (32nd percentile)
Weight - 195 pounds
Boutte met with the media on Friday, and when asked what he expects to run in his 40-yard dash, he believed he’d run a 4.3.
The unofficial times are certainly alarming, but come LSU’s Pro Day on March 29th, it’ll give a better grasp on where things stand for Boutte.
There has certainly been a fair amount of curiosity surrounding Boutte and his NFL Draft stock after declaring in late December.
Boutte burst onto the scene as a freshman and carried his success into his sophomore campaign. In Year 2 with the Tigers, he reeled in 38 catches for 509 receiving yards and nine touchdowns his sophomore season.
Fast forward to his junior campaign in 2022, expectations were high with first round draft pick or bust narratives on his shoulders.
Despite this, Boutte still took over at times, totaling 48 catches for 538 yards and two touchdowns with LSU winning the SEC West. The Bayou Bengals’ WR1 became the focal point of opposing teams’ scouting reports, still controlling the pace when called upon.
