Live Updates: No. 14 LSU Football vs. Mississippi State in Week 3
No. 14 LSU begins SEC play against Mississippi State with an opportunity to begin their conference slate on the right track.
Brian Kelly and Co. are fresh off of a week of "intense practices" with the goal of playing with a "competitive edge" for all four quarters on Saturday.

“This is really about the challenge of playing on the road, handling the 11 a.m. start, playing a really well coached football team,” Kelly said. “This is a good football team, well coached, and they have depth.”
Pregame Updates:
- LSU LB Omar Speights is out for Saturday's matchup against Mississippi State. Speights was seen on the sideline in sweats, and after being ruled doubtful, he's OUT.
- LSU DB Greg Brooks is OUT (undisclosed) against the Bulldogs.
- Greg Penn III and West Weeks will take a majority of snaps at linebacker alongside Harold Perkins.
- LSU TE Mason Taylor (sprained ankle) WILL PLAY against Mississippi State on Saturday.
- LSU CB Denver Harris will start against Mississippi State opposite of Zy Alexander.
- LSU RB John Emery will make his first appearance of the season against the Bulldogs. Emery missed weeks one and two.

First Quarter
Mississippi State has won the toss and elected to receive. Will Rogers and the Bulldogs with start off with the football.
Rogers opens up the game with an easy pitch and catch for 12 yards.
LSU utilizes Harold Perkins as an edge rusher off the right side on third and 10 with the Tigers getting the stop. Positive sign for the Tigers to work Perkins off the edge. Gregory Clayton fair catches at the LSU 17.
LSU utilizing their freshman here. Whit Weeks gets the start at linebacker, Mac Markway with the start at tight end and former 5-star OT Zalance Heard will work in at right tackle.

Jayden Daniels connects with Malik Nabers on third-and-eight for a six yard gain. The Tigers will stay on the field on fourth-and-two. LSU in Mississippi State territory on the 29-yard line.

Jayden Daniels connects with Malik Nabers once again, this time for a 32-yard gain on the first play of the drive. Logan Diggs follows with an 8-yard gain. The Daniels-Nabers connection is coming to life early here in Starkville.

Second Quarter
Jayden Daniels and Malik Nabers have been unstoppable in the first half. Daniels connects with Nabers on fourth-and-six for a 33-yard touchdown reception... again.

Freshman OT Zalance Heard begins the Tigers fourth drive of the game. Brian Kelly detailed that the youngster would get significant first-team reps in Week 3, providing them to the first-year Tiger.
