LSU DL Coach Jamar Cain Leaving LSU For NFL Job

Cain has helped elevate the Tigers defensive line both on the field and on recruiting trail.
In this story:

LSU head coach Brian Kelly will now look to replace another on-field member of his staff as defensive line coach Jamar Cain is off to the NFL.

Cain is headed to Denver where he will join Sean Payton’s Broncos coaching staff.

The elite position coach, and key recruiter for Coach Kelly’s defense, will take on a role as a pass rush specialist.

“He told us today. He didn’t want to tell us, he was choking up telling us. But for him to achieve that goal that he has always wanted. Why can’t you be happy for that? I’m just excited for him,” veteran defensive lineman Jacobian Guillory said. “Bless his heart.”

Here’s what Guillory had to say of his coach and the impact he’s made on his players:

Cain spent just one season in Baton Rouge on Kelly’s staff before taking quite the jump to the NFL. Cain previously coached at Oklahoma under Lincoln Riley, and he was set to follow Riley to Southern California once he took the job, but Kelly swooped in and offered him the role as LSU’s defensive line coach.

Cain will now work under defensive coordinator Vance Joseph on Sean Payton's freshly assembled Denver Broncos coaching staff.
