LSU Football: Five-Star SEC Commit Visiting The Tigers

2024 Timpson (Tex.) athlete Terry Bussey will make way to Baton Rouge for a visit to LSU on Saturday. The five-star phenom will make his second trip to Louisiana this fall. On3's Billy Embody had it first.

Bussey took an official visit to LSU last month before revealing his commitment to Texas A&M. In what became a battle between the Tigers and Aggies, Jimbo Fisher's program pulled it off late to secure his services.

Now, Bussey will make his way back to Baton Rouge as LSU continues its blitz for the freak athlete.

Bussey's visit in September was memorable for the five-star prospect. The Tigers staff rolled out the red carpet for the No. 1 athlete in America where he had the chance to soak in the scenes of Death Valley, hold meetings with the coaching staff and more. It was quite the two-day stretch for Bussey.

LSU’s Pitch

LSU views Bussey as a “Swiss Army Knife” type of player who can come in and compete for playing time in every facet of the game. He can carve out a role at safety on defense while also taking time on special teams.

Bussey sat down with wide receivers coach Cortez Hankton as well during his time in Baton Rouge last month. Fresh off of a Friday night game, Bussey made the trip to LSU where he stayed in town for a 48 hour visit.

It was his second time down South after unofficially visiting in June as well. For LSU, it was a situation where this program felt they answered all of the questions Bussey’s camp had with the two clearly having mutual interest.

A program-changing prospect, Brian Kelly has kept his foot on the gas for Bussey despite his commitment to Texas A&M. With another crack at the elite-level recruit, this program will pull out all the stop.

The Hometown Kid: Texas A&M Commit

Bussey has visited College Station more than five times this year with the Aggies ultimately sealing the deal and securing his commitment. A Texas native, he made the decision to remain closer to home for college, but it's still a battle.

Jimbo Fisher and Co. separated themselves from the competition, but with visits to Alabama and LSU this fall, he’s kept his options open. Saturday will be his first visit elsewhere since revealing his pledge to the Aggies.

Despite Bussey having ties to Louisiana, momentum remains in Texas A&M’s favor as he remains loyal to his commitment, but the time is now for LSU to take strides in the right direction with the Early Signing Period just two months out.
