LSU Football: No. 1 Running Back in America Set to Visit Baton Rouge
Brian Kelly is dialing up an impressive visitors list for this weekend with this program shifting focus towards the 2025 cycle. On Saturday, LSU will get a visit from a top target: Harlem Berry.
The No. 1 running back in the 2025 class will make his way to Baton Rouge for a visit to Death Valley on Saturday as LSU continues its push for the top Louisiana prospect.
Berry recently released his top schools with the Tigers making the cut. The electrifying back has put the country on notice, and for running backs coach Frank Wilson, he’ll roll out the red carpet on Saturday for his top target.
Get familiar with Berry's recruitment:
The Upcoming Visit: Auburn Game
Berry has made his way to Baton Rouge on several occasions this year. From unofficial visits to camping at LSU over the summer, it's no secret there is mutual interest between both parties.
The No. 1 running back in America recently released his top schools with Kelly and Co. sitting alongside several elite programs including Texas and Oklahoma.
Now, the Tigers will get another crack at Berry where he will be joined by a star-studded 2025 visitors list, including Bryce Underwood (the No. 1 2025 prospect) and five-star LSU commit Dakorien Moore (No. 2 2025 wide receiver).
The Good: The Frank Wilson Effect
LSU running backs coach Frank Wilson rarely swings and misses on top Louisiana prospects, especially at the running back position. Of course, there is always the occasional miss in the recruiting game, but Wilson is a master of his craft.
Wilson has taken the lead on Berry's recruitment with the two developing a tight knit relationship over the last handful of months while LSU has turned up the heat.
For a player of Berry's caliber, the top player in Louisiana will have several potential suitors, but Wilson will certainly do his due diligence as time goes on.
It's a long way out until the 2025 prospect puts pen to paper and LSU will continue a full court press for his services.
Speaking of Potential Suitors: The Top Five
Berry is early in the process. In the midst of his junior campaign, he's been wined and dined by several top programs in America with a few standing out from the rest.
The Texas Longhorns come to mind when speaking with those familiar with the situation. Steve Sarkisian and Co. have turned up the heat for Berry, but Sark, along with the rest of Berry's top schools, will battle until the final buzzer.
Berry released his final five schools consisting of LSU, Texas, Oklahoma, Florida and USC last week.
LSU and Texas are two schools to monitor here, and with the Tigers getting a visit this weekend, it's always a positive sign.
Again, it's a long way out, but Kelly and his staff have certainly continued making an impression on the No. 1 player in Louisiana.
