LSU is making its presence felt in a big way on the recruiting trail and their efforts are beginning to pay off. The Tigers secured a commitment from fast-rising offensive tackle Ory Williams on Sunday after a trip to Baton Rouge.

Williams is commitment No. 21 in the 2024 cycle after LSU welcomed four-star cornerback Cai Bates on Wednesday as this program heats up on the trail.

The Texas native is a player offensive line coach Brad Davis has kept tabs on for the last few months. At 6-foot-7, 300-pounds, Williams is beginning to see his game take that next step and Davis knows he can help evolve him into a consistent SEC guy.

Williams took an official visit to LSU in June and eventually made his way back to Baton Rouge on Friday for the Tigers Bayou Splash recruiting event.

He was supposed to make his way to Florida on Saturday for a visit, but after his time in Death Valley, Williams ultimately canceled his visit before pledging to the Tigers.

The three-star prospect is a fast-riser in the 2024 class and could see his status elevate to four-star by the time it’s all said and done.

With the physical makeup of an SEC tackle, the length and twitchiness he possesses already gives him an advantage moving forward.

LSU is beginning to stack offensive linemen in its 2024 class with a few major targets remaining on their board in Blake Ivy and Weston Davis. To this point, the Tigers now have three pledges with Williams joining Khayree Lee and Ethan Calloway.

Brian Kelly has remained in Louisiana for a majority of his 2024 class, but to head over to Texas and secure a player with tremendous upside in Williams is another win for this program.

The work continues for Kelly and his staff, but as July winds down, this program sits in a fantastic position with several priority targets as fall inches closer.

On Sunday, LSU target and Ole Miss commit Joseph Cryer backed off of his pledge to the Rebels with the Tigers trending for the Louisiana native.

Brian Kelly's program is heating up in a big way on the recruiting trail with more commitments coming sooner rather than later in the 2024 class.
