LSU Football: Tigers Land Commitment From 4-Star TE JD LaFleur

Brian Kelly adds the LSU legacy to the 2025 class, another high-upside talent.

Sulphur (La.) tight end JD LaFleur earned an offer from the Tigers over the summer after a stellar camp showing and now shuts down the recruiting process after committing to LSU on Tuesday.

An LSU legacy, his father David LaFleur was an All-American tight end for the Tigers in the 90’s. Now, his son is up next in the purple and gold.

The son of a first round NFL Draft pick, [JD] LaFleur already attains the size this program is looking for at the tight end position. The 6-foot-6, 220-pounder towers over his competition as just a rising junior.

A 2025 talent, LaFleur had time to make his decision, but the Tigers began trending for the Louisiana native once his offer was distributed. Now, he's a Tiger.

LaFleur chose LSU over Florida, Miami and Texas Tech, among others, during his recruiting process.

The Tigers now hold three commitments in the 2025 class with LaFleur joining Isidore Newman (La.) offensive lineman Brett Bordelon and Grayson (Ga.) cornerback Jaylen Bell.

LSU hosted its Bayou Splash recruiting event on Friday with number of priority 2024 and 2025 prospects making their way to Baton Rouge.

Now, just four days after the event concluded, the Tigers have secured three commitments in back-to-back-to-back days. LSU also landed pledges from offensive linemen Ory Williams and Joseph Cryer in the 2024 class.

The heater continues for Brian Kelly and Co. as the dominant recruiting run carries into August.
