LSU QB Jayden Daniels Inks NIL Deal With Powerade
LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels has signed his first national name, image and likeness deal after partnering with Powerade this week. The sports drink company is making a return to the NIL space.
The Coca-Cola company signed over 30 athletes during March Madness for its first NIL campaign, and with college football right around the corner, they’ve made their way into another realm.
Powerade inked deals with five college football players with TV opportunities and other social media pushes.
Along with LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels, the sports drink company signed Florida State‘s Jared Verse, Georgia cornerback Malaki Starks, USC wide receiver Mario Williams and Iowa running back Kaleb Johnson.
“As the official hydration partner for many big-time programs, we want Powerade to be synonymous with college football – and there was no better way than to team up with several of the best athletes in the country for our newest campaign,” Body Armour’s chief marketing officer Tom Gargiulo said in a statement. “These top players embody who we are as a brand, putting in the work in hopes of getting to the next level. Given the huge reach of college football, we’re excited to tap into that network of fans and consumers to showcase that POWERADE offers more than the competition.”
The official Powerade "It Takes More" campaign:
For Daniels, he's beginning to stack NIL deals as he gears up for his final season in Baton Rouge. He's partnered with Gordon McKernan Injury Attorney's, who's made his presence felt in the space, along with Canes and other brands.
The Tigers starting quarterback has been the talk of the town recently after being named to the Preseason All-SEC Team and cruising up Heisman lists with the season inching closer.
