LSU Recruiting Update: The Dominick McKinley Chase, 2025 CB on Flip Watch

The Tigers continue pushing for the top player in Louisiana, top 2025 cornerback on flip watch.

We’re 24 hours away from the No. 1 prospect in Louisiana revealing his college decision with Brian Kelly and the LSU Tigers landing their fair share of punches down the stretch.

The top prep player in the Bayou State, Dominick McKinley has been a coveted player for a handful of the top programs in America with LSU keeping the pressure on the Louisiana native.

What’s the word as we near a decision? A top 2025 cornerback on flip watch?

The Latest on the Recruiting Trail:

Dominick McKinley - No. 1 Player in Louisiana

Acadiana (La.) five-star defensive lineman Dominick McKinley will announce his college decision on Friday, Sept. 1 as he gets ready for his senior campaign.

He’ll shut down his recruiting process with LSU, Oklahoma, Texas, Ohio State and Texas A&M giving their pitches each day.

For LSU, McKinley is the No. 1 target on the Big Board. After swinging and missing on Colin Simmons, this program will now throw all of its resources at McKinley as he narrows down on a decision.

Texas and Ohio State remain serious threats in his recruitment, but Kelly’s program turned up the heat down the stretch after gaining traction towards the end of July.

The Tigers got McKinley and his family down to Baton Rouge on the final weekend of July for their annual Bayou Splash recruiting event. The visit to Death Valley put the Tigers right back in contention for the No. 1 player in the state.

LSU has eight of the state’s Top 10 prospects committed in the 2024 class with the two uncommitted being McKinley and four-star safety Wardell Mack.

With a decision 24 hours away, the Tigers will continue their pursuit of the top player on their radar, but it'll be a battle in crunch time.

Anquon Fegans - 2025 Cornerback

Four-star cornerback Anquon Fegans is officially on flip watch after backing off of his commitment to USC on Thursday.

Fegans, who LSU remains in close contact with, reopened his recruitment after being committed to the Trojans for just a few months.

Now, the Tigers will begin turning up the heat for one of the top juniors in America.

Fegans made the trip down to Baton Rouge for LSU’s Bayou Splash recruiting event in July, and after gaining traction, he’s back on the market.

One of the most coveted players in the 2025 class, the Tigers and Brian Kelly will look to get him down to Death Valley for a game day experience this fall.

Devin Harper - 2025 Offensive Lineman

Harper is quickly making a name for himself on the recruiting trail with LSU getting in on the action early. A rising junior, Harper is now seeing the top SEC programs heat up as they battle to make their pitches.

For LSU, the Tigers sit in great position for one of Louisiana’s Top 10 prospects. A player who has already been seen repping LSU gear during scrimmages ahead of his 2023 season, Harper could be trending the Tigers way, but it’s a long way out for Harper.

We could see him shut his recruitment process down, but a player that won’t put pen to paper until December of 2024, it’s a long term plan for the Tigers as they look to continue separating themselves from the competition.

Harper has reeled in offers from LSU, Florida, Georgia and Oklahoma, among others as his process heats up in a big way.
