LSU Recruiting Wish List: Five 2024 Prospects to Know

The Tigers begin their busy stretch of summer recruiting this weekend, official visit season begins.
In this story:

As the month of June inches closer, it’ll be a busy time on the recruiting trail for this LSU football program. We’ve seen the Tigers secure a handful of elite in-state prospects to this point, but continuing to fill out the 2024 class will be of the utmost importance.

Brian Kelly and his staff have locked in several official visitors for early June as they look to set the table for a busy summer period.

Who are the Tigers pushing for? Who’s at the top of their “wish list”?

A dive into a handful of high-priority targets:

Dominick McKinley - Defensive Line

The 6-foot-6, 285-pound defensive lineman has been a high-riser over the last few months from a rankings perspective. A Lafayette, La. native, he’s a player who the Tigers are recruiting heavily at the moment.

McKinley has been on campus twice this year as he begins to lock in on the recruitment process with LSU putting the heat on the dominant force. Along with the Tigers, Alabama, Oklahoma, Texas and Texas A&M have been pushing for McKinley.

Wardell Mack - Cornerback

A Louisiana native, Mack has already made his way to LSU this spring and has felt the love from this coaching staff. The four-star cornerback out of John Ehret High School is making a name for himself ahead of his senior season with the Tigers looking to lock him in sooner rather than later.

With long arms and quick hips, Mack is blossoming into one of the South’s top guys and Power Five programs are taking notice. The offer list is growing at a rapid pace, but Kelly and the Tigers are looking to position themselves to secure one of Louisiana’s finest.

Ka’Davion Dotson - Defensive Back

Kelly’s staff has begun logging some serious hours in the 2024 class, specifically in both Louisiana and Texas. When it comes to the Lone Star State, the Tigers have been putting in work at Duncanville High, the state’s powerhouse program.

Duncanville High cornerback Ka’Davion Dotson remains on LSU’s radar, and as they continue pursuing the coveted defensive back, the interest is mutual. Dotson recently included LSU in his final five schools: LSU, Texas, TCU, Oklahoma State and SMU.

Dotson-Walker is fresh off a dominant junior campaign that resulted in a state championship for his squad. The 4-star cornerback propelled his team to another miraculous season which saw recruitment take that next step.

Along with LSU, Dotson-Walker is being heavily pursued by in-state schools as well, specifically TCU, where he has also dropped in for a visit.

Jeremiah McClellan - Wide Receiver

Four-star wide receiver Jeremiah McClellan will officially visit LSU on June 2 as he makes his way across the country to check out a few schools. One of the top wideouts in the nation, McClellan will also visit Ohio State (June 9), Tennessee (June 16) and Oregon (June 23).

The 6-foot-1, 185-pound Missouri native has heard from schools all over the country with Ohio State being the program to beat at the moment. With his first official visit of the summer set to be down South with the Tigers, Brian Kelly and Co. will get their chance to make an early impression on the rising prospect.

Kobe Black - Cornerback

For Black, he’s in the midst of a recruiting tear with Texas, Oklahoma, and Alabama, among others, coming in hot. For the Tigers to get the elite prospect to town is a massive win.

At 6-foot-1, 190-pounds, Black has begun filling out his frame ahead of what many expect to be a dominant senior campaign. With prototypical corner size and excellent length, it’s a matter of continuing to add mass before the next level.

Other notable prospects the Tigers are pushing for:

Caden Durham - Running Back - Duncanville High (Tex.)

Tylen Singleton - Linebacker - Many, La.

Jelani Watkins - Wide Receiver - Houston, Tex.

Joel Rogers - Safety - Saint Francisville, La.
