Recruits React 2.0: LSU Commits, Targets Blown Away During Visits

The Tigers continue making moves on the recruiting trail, prospects overjoyed during time in Baton Rouge.
In this story:

Brian Kelly continues going above and beyond on the recruiting trail and his efforts are beginning to pay off. In the midst of a monstrous weekend on the trail, LSU is starting to see it all come to fruition.

After hosting over 50 prospects to Baton Rouge on Friday, a handful of the top guys stayed back for a weekend stay including the Duncanville duo of Caden Durham and Colin Simmons.

The last 72 hours have been important for this program, setting the table for something special sooner rather than later.

What are the recruits saying?

The commitments and major targets took to social media over the weekend to voice their opinions on what’s brewing down South.

A look into a few reactions:

Jojo Stone - 2024 Wide Receiver Commit

Stone has been committed to the purple and gold for quite some time now, and after taking visits elsewhere during the spring and earlier this summer, he reaffirmed his pledge to LSU in June.

The four-star wide receiver has been a hot commodity on the recruiting trail and Cortez Hankton understands he’s getting a good one. On Friday, this coaching staff made sure to get Stone to Baton Rouge for Bayou Splash and it’s safe to say it was a success.

Stone is one of three wide receivers committed in the 2024 class, joining Louisiana natives Kylan Billiot and Michael Turner Jr.

Here’s what Stone had to say on social media of his time down South:

Kylan Billiot - 2024 Wide Receiver Commit

Billiot is in the midst of a meteoric rise up the recruiting rankings this summer after a dominant junior campaign. He’s seen his status elevate to a four-star prospect while becoming a Top 10 recruit in Louisiana.

The Houma (La.) native made the drive over to Baton Rouge on Friday for Bayou Splash and raved about his time on campus. From the pool party to the barbecue to the Football Operations Facility tour, it was another great visit for Billiot on campus.

It’s been a big summer for Billiot, and after receiving an offer from the Tigers in June, he wasted no time in revealing his pledge to Brian Kelly’s program. Now, he’s up next as the next Louisiana wide receiver to represent the purple and gold.

Here’s what Billiot said on social media following his time in Baton Rouge:

Caden Durham - 2024 Running Back Target

It’s understood at this point that Durham is at the top of LSU’s wish list in the 2024 class. The Duncanville (Tex.) product has been talked about for the last few months and running back’s coach Frank Wilson has turned up the heat for the four-star talent.

Durham made his way to Baton Rouge for Bayou Splash and it’s turned into a four-day stay in Baton Rouge. After arriving on Thursday, Durham stayed until Sunday, but that isn’t all.

The electrifying back took to social media to reveal he will be changing his commitment date after originally having it planned for August 25. Could the Tigers be inching closer to landing a pledge from their No. 1 running back target?
