The LSU CB Big Board: Tigers Lose Commitment From Ondre Evans
Tennessee four-star cornerback Ondre Evans has backed off of his pledge to LSU and flipped his commitment to the Georgia Bulldogs, he announced on Wednesday.
Evans committed to Brian Kelly and the Tigers on June 15 while in the midst of a dominant summer on the camp circuit. He also received offers from Georgia and Alabama during his impressive stretch.
The latest on LSU's search for another 2024 cornerback:
Flipped: Ondre Evans
Earlier in the week, Evans to Georgia became a real possibility, and after a midweek visit to Athens, it busted the door wide open for a flip, sources tell LSU Country. Now, he's officially announced his commitment to the National Champions.
Evans is the No. 1 overall player in the state of Tennessee with Kirby Smart and his staff stealing a major SEC target once again. With the Tigers in constant contact with Evans, the Tennessee native now makes a major splash on the recruiting trail.
The 6-foot, 185-pounder has been a fast-rising prospect in the 2024 class. With his body beginning to fill out, he’s seen it take his game to a new level. Evans became one of the highest risers in the recent 247Sports recruiting rankings, going from unranked nationally to No. 106.

The Flip Target: Bernard Causey
Ole Miss commitment Bernard Causey is at the top of LSU's "wish list" when it comes to adding another cornerback to the 2024 class. It's a position of need, and for Causey, he's a guy whose stock is rising at a rapid rate.
Experts within the industry believe LSU ultimately wins out here for Causey's services, and with Evans now out of the picture in the current cycle, it's a must this program locks down the in-state defensive back.
LSU will turn up the heat for Causey in a big way now. We expect traction to gain in this area sooner rather than later.
The Commitments:
- Ju'Juan Johnson (four-star cornerback)
- Cai Bates (four-star cornerback)
- Wallace Foster (three-star cornerback)
