Brian Kelly and the LSU football staff reeled in a commitment from the No. 1 wide receiver in America last August when 2025 prospect Dakorien Moore revealed his pledge to the Tigers.

The Texas native quickly became one of the most sought-after players in the cycle after back-to-back dominant seasons at powerhouse program Duncanville High (Tex.).

Now, he's pledged to the Tigers and remains a headliner in the class that boasts the nation's No. 1 quarterback (Bryce Underwood) and No. 1 running back (Harlem Berry).

Despite remaining committed to LSU, Moore is listening to what other programs have to offer, specifically the Texas Longhorns and Oregon Ducks.

After a visit to Texas, rumors started swirling that the Longhorns could be giving Moore something to think about regarding his commitment to Kelly's program. Then, a crystal ball prediction from On3's Eric Nahlin came in that he would flip to the Longhorns.

From speaking with those surrounding Moore's recruitment, this doesn't appear to be something to worry about at this very second, but both the Longhorns and Ducks will be pushing heavily for his services until the final buzzer in December when Moore puts pen to paper, which is a given.

Moore remains committed to LSU, but this will be one to keep tabs on as Moore remains on "flip watch" for the pair of powerhouse programs.

Can LSU keep the No. 1 receiver in America committed to the purple and gold until he puts pen to paper? Time will tell, but it's clear Moore is intrigued at the opportunity to play alongside Underwood and the talented 2025 class LSU is bringing in.

What makes Moore such a coveted prospect on the recruiting trail?

The scouting report on LSU’s five-star pledge:

Advanced Route Running

Despite Moore only entering his senior year of high school, he’s an exceptional route runner for his age. He’s fluid and has the ability to get vertical in the blink of an eye which carved his way to impressive sophomore and junior campaigns with Duncanville in both 2022 and 2023.

Moore showcased his advanced game during camps this summer as well. He’s a maniac in 7-on-7, giving cornerbacks fits at every stop he made. Even when defenders may think he’s covered, Moore’s twitchiness gets him open instantly to make a play.

Changing Gears

LSU added both Caden Durham and Jelani Watkins to its 2024 recruiting class during the current cycle where the pair of speedsters will also run track for the Tigers once on campus. Now, the purple and gold add another track and field standout in Moore.

The five-star wide receiver is exceptional in open space, but his ability to switch gears up and down is what makes him special when going vertical. Off the line, he’s twitchy, and once he’s upping his ears downfield, good luck staying in front of him.

Ball Skills

Moore can pinpoint the ball at its highest point and use physicality to reel in contested catches on a routine basis. A player standing around the 5-foot-11, 6-foot range, he won’t be a player LSU relies on for jump balls, but he’s a guy who can make the tough plays when needed.

He has advanced hands as he enters his senior offseason and the strength was shown during his junior campaign. He’s a downfield target who will have significant yards per catch if utilized correctly. Moore can change pace, get open vertically and give the Tigers another elite-level wideout for the future.
