LSU tight end Mason Taylor continues working towards getting back to 100% after suffering an ankle sprain against Grambling State in the Tigers' Week 2 victory.

Taylor proceeded to miss LSU's Week 3 matchup against Mississippi State, but returned to the lineup in Week 4.

Once back on the field, it was clear the sophomore tight end wasn't fully healthy. Now, as Week 7 arrives, Taylor confirmed he's still pushing to get back to 100%.

“I would say I’m at maybe around 75-80 percent now,” Taylor said on Tuesday. “It’s definitely getting better. Every week it’s been bugging me less and less.”

Taylor isn't the only LSU player who's been battling a sprained ankle this season.

Defensive lineman Maason Smith suffered an ankle sprain during Fall Camp in August as he works towards getting back to full strength. After his showing against Missouri, it's clear Smith is nearing the finish line.

For Taylor, he admits it's been a work in progress to get back healthy:

“It’s definitely evolving. It’s just a week by week thing,” Taylor said. “Every week it’s been getting better so as we go down this road, I’ve been getting treatment every single day with my whole body and it’s been getting better every week.”
