Tigers heating up on the recruiting trail, looking to seal the deal soon with a few prospects.
In this story:

Brian Kelly and the Tigers are heating up on the recruiting trail this spring. After hosting several big weekends with prospects from all over the country making their way to Baton Rouge, they’re positioning themselves for another monstrous summer.

We’ve seen Junior Day events, midweek visits and more over the last few weeks where Kelly’s staff has made big-time impressions on some of the nation’s top prospects.

As we reach the halfway mark of spring camp, and a few prospects already announce their commitments, could we see things get hot sooner rather than later?

We took a look into a few prospects on LSU’s “wish list” in the 2024 class:

Dominick McKinley - Defensive Line

The 6-foot-6, 285-pound defensive lineman has been a high-riser over the last few months from a rankings perspective. A Lafayette, La. native, he’s a player who the Tigers are recruiting heavily at the moment.

McKinley has been on campus twice this year as he begins to lock in on the recruitment process with LSU putting the heat on the dominant force. Along with the Tigers, Alabama, Oklahoma, Texas and Texas A&M have been pushing for McKinley.

Trey’Dez Green - Tight End

The dual-sport athlete has the attention of Brian Kelly and the Tigers. After making his way to campus on several occasions, the 6-foot-5, 225-pound tight end has made his name known nationally after a standout junior campaign.

One of the Tigers’ top targets in the 2024 class, the rich are looking to get richer at the tight end position. After securing three elite prospects in the 2023 class and already holding a commitment from Tayvion Galloway in the 2024 class, Green could make this group even better in the long run.

A big-time basketball player with a growing offer list, his game on the hardwood translates to the gridiron. With an impressive vertical and soft hands in the receiving game, Green has proven to be one of the more dynamic tight ends in his class.

Charleston Collins - Defensive Line

The Arkansas native is a prospect the Tigers have their foot on the gas for. He’s already made his way to Baton Rouge this spring as he continues dialing in on his recruitment process. Along with LSU, Collins has made his way to a handful of other schools as well.

The 6-foot-5, 250 pound defensive lineman is as physically gifted as anyone in his class, and as he continues sharpening his technique, he’s seen his recruitment blow up. Coming off of a huge junior season, it comes as no surprise that schools are turning up the heat for Collins, including Brian Kelly’s Tigers.

Wardell Mack - Cornerback

A Louisiana native, Mack has already made his way to LSU this spring and has felt the love from this coaching staff. The four-star cornerback out of John Ehret High School is making a name for himself ahead of his senior season with the Tigers looking to lock him in sooner rather than later.

With long arms and quick hips, Mack is blossoming into one of the South’s top guys and Power Five programs are taking notice. The offer list is growing at a rapid pace, but Kelly and the Tigers are looking to position themselves to secure one of Louisiana’s finest.
