Donta Scott is a freshman from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He was a four-star recruit out of Imhotep Charter High School.

The 6-foot-7 225-pound small forward led Imhotep to three straight PIAA (Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association) Class 4A State Championships and three straight Philadelphia Public League championships. He was named PIAA Class 4A Player of the Year twice, an impressive resume for this young star.

Through three games, he has averaged 16 minutes on the court. He has converted 46.7 percent of his field goal attempts, including 37.5 percent from behind the arc. Although still inexperienced, he is slowly learning to be a quality rebounder for the Terrapins. In his first game against Holy Cross, he left a great impression on the team with six rebounds.

There is certainly more to playing basketball than just scoring. With Mark Turgeon taking Scott under his wing, he will now have the opportunity to show case his talents as a starter. Tonight, he will be starting along side Anthony Cowan Jr, Aaron Wiggins, Darryl Morsell, and Jalen Smith against the Fairfield Stags. The Terps have rotated in two sophomores in Eric Ayala and Ricky Lindo Jr in the starting rotation over the last three games. Now, the spotlight will be on Scott to prove to coaches that he belongs as a starter.

Considering the struggles the Stags have dealt with through four games, Scott is in a prime position to have a great night and could potentially become a permanent starter for the Terrapins in the near future.
