After the win at Blacksburg this week, Miami was still in need of a few things to fall their way in order to capture the ACC Regular Season Title. Last night, one of those things happened.

In a shocking performance, Boston College was able to dominate and upset #6 Virginia at home 63-48.

With that loss, Miami sits today as the top team in the ACC and two games left to play, as the ACC basketball standings see Miami (14-4) leading Virginia (13-4) and Pittsburgh (13-4) by half a game.

While there may be many ways this could pan out for Miami to end up winning the conference title, there's one way that's the easiest to see. That would be that Miami wins their next two games to close out the season. With an undefeated home record to defend as well, the Canes should be highly motivated.

The final two games for the Canes starts with rival Florida State (6-11) on Saturday.

Despite FSU's poor record, these are two rival schools that hate seeing the other succeed. Miami must come in ready to play like it will be facing a top 10 squad.

As for Pittsburgh, that March 4th matchup could very well determine the conference regular season winner. If Miami is able to capture the regular season conference title, this would be their first since 2012-13 and just their second overall.

It is no surprise however that the current only regular season conference title came under Jim Larranaga. Before the start of last season, it was being considered that Larranaga's time at Miami was up. But during these last two seasons, he's solidified himself as one of the best coaches in the country.

For now, Miami fans can cheer on their Canes and hope they wrap up a stellar regular season ACC title before moving to the ACC Tournament and March Madness.
