Florida State Storms Into Watsco Center And Captures A Win Over The Hurricanes 84-75
It's always exciting when the Hurricanes and Seminoles face off, and tonight was no exception. However despite a valiant effort, Miami didn't have quiet enough as Florida State gets a big time win 84-75. Florida State improves to 5-1 in ACC play while Miami moves to 3-3.
As it is most nights for the Seminoles, it was a total team effort on the offensive end. Three Seminoles finished with 15 or more points with Primo Spears and Cameron Corhen each having 16.
Florida State dominated in the rebounding differential, taking that 41-35. Additionally, they took it to Miami in paint scoring 52 points to Miami's 34. With Norchad Omier who dealt with foul trouble throughout the game, the Seminoles capitalized on it.
In terms of Miami, they simply weren't able to get the ball to go into the basket. Despite being a good free throw shooting team this season, the Hurricanes shot just 58.3% from the line (14-24). Furthermore, they were just 46.6% from the field and 25% from behind the arc.
Nijel Pack was Miami's driving force in the second half, scoring 15 of his 19 points then. He had three deep three pointers that gave Miami the momentum, but it wasn't enough to catch the Seminoles. Omier finished with a double-double with 15 points and 15 rebounds.
Now with their backs against the wall with not much more room for error, the Hurricanes will head up to New York to face the Syracuse Orange who are led by star guard Judah Mintz. Miami has thrived under pressure, but the question will be can they do it again.
